In the early morning of the 8th local time, a passenger plane of Ukraine International Airlines crashed near the Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, Iran.
For the total number of people at the time of the crash, 167 passengers and nine crew members were previously reported. However, according to Iranian News TV, the Iranian government's emergency department said that 170 passengers and nine crew members were on board-147 of the 170 passengers were allegedly Iranian citizens.
However, this latest figure has not been confirmed by Ukraine. Moreover, Ukraine's report on the nationality of people on board is quite different from Iran's. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said there were 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes on board, as well as many Germans and British.
